Virtual trade event connects Noosa operators with UK and EU markets

Tourism Noosa has successfully hosted its first Noosa Virtual Tour in the UK and Europe, connecting 20 Tourism Noosa members with 20 leading overseas wholesalers in a tailored virtual trade event.

This innovative format allowed members to build important one-on-one relationships with key international trade partners, aiming to influence the inclusion of key Noosa tourism product in global itineraries.

The virtual approach is recognised as one of the most effective and efficient methods to strengthen commercial ties and expand global reach.

UK and Europe remain Noosa’s leading international markets for both visitation and visitor spend, and this event plays a strategic role in further developing these high-value markets.

Tourism Noosa’s chief executive officer Sharon Raguse said, “This was a fantastic opportunity for our members to deepen relationships with key trade partners and grow their understanding of the international market.”

“By connecting directly with wholesalers, our members can ensure their product is front of mind as agents choose destinations and build itineraries for their clients.”

As well as showcasing Noosa’s appeal to trade partners, the event offered valuable learning opportunities for operators, improving product knowledge and highlighting the benefits of international bookings, such as attracting new customer segments and supporting business during off-peak periods.

Vynka Hutton, international trade manager for Tourism Noosa said, “This virtual format allowed us to deliver strong business outcomes without the high costs of travelling overseas. It’s a smart and sustainable way to stay engaged with the global market.”

“Feedback from both overseas buyers and Noosa based operators has been overwhelmingly positive, commenting. That the event delivered for connections and business opportunities in a timely and cost effective way.”

The event was a strong step forward in Tourism Noosa’s ongoing international strategy, delivering results that will benefit both the local visitor economy and Noosa’s global profile.
