A senior constable in the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is set to face Noosa Magistrates Court after allegedly stealing a vehicle while off duty.
The 34-year-old man, based in the state’s north coast region, has been served with a notice to appear in court on 5 August.
The member has been charged with stealing of a vehicle, allegedly committed while off duty.
In response to the charges, the officer has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” a QPS spokesperson stated.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
