Top Dog and Gutsy Girls film festivals hit Noosa this Saturday

From courageous canines to daring women, two acclaimed film festivals — Top Dog and Gutsy Girls — will light up the screen at The J in Noosa this Saturday, 2 August.

The incredible team from PTSD Dogs will be there with some of their four-legged heroes, ready to meet the audience and share more about their important work.

The 2025 Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour brings you two and a half hours of adrenaline-fuelled action and soul-stirring stories from fearless women around the globe.

This year’s line-up features eight extraordinary short films capturing the raw intensity of: breathtaking mountaineering expeditions in the Alps, gravity-defying mountain biking with Kiwi legend Robin Goomes, subterranean exploration with world-renowned cave diver Jill Heinerth, groundbreaking hybrid sport snowboard BASE jumping in the Canadian Rockies and former NZ

Festival founder and director Jemima Robinson says this year’s program represents the very essence of what the Gutsy Girls Tour is all about.

“This tour was born from a desire to see more women represented in adventure storytelling. Nine years on, I’m still blown away by the passion and bravery these filmmakers and athletes bring to the screen,” says Robinson.

“The 2025 tour is a powerful reminder that adventure is about more than the summit—it’s about grit, growth, and going for it.”

The Top Dog Film Festival is more than a film event — it’s a celebration of the unconditional love, loyalty, and laughter dogs bring into our lives. Whether you’re a seasoned dog owner, an animal lover, or simply appreciate uplifting storytelling, this unique cinematic event promises an unforgettable experience.

“We’re so excited to present a film of our own creation this year,” says Jemima.

“Canine Concierge captures the spirit of everything the Top Dog Film Festival stands for — joy, connection, and the incredible way dogs bring comfort and character into every space they inhabit. It’s a love letter to the dogs who welcome us, calm us, and remind us we’re never truly alone.”
