Bakslap, a Sunshine Coast-based business known for its innovative skin care and mobility solutions, has announced its recent expansion into the U.S. and upcoming launch in the U.K, made possible by the strategic support and financial backing of Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the state’s global business agency.
Through the New to Export Program for the U.S. and the New Market eCommerce Grant for the U.K, Bakslap is stepping confidently onto the global stage.
TIQ’s New to Export program is designed for Queensland businesses who have not previously exported, to fast track their way into global markets by providing them with the tools and support to grow and scale their goods and services internationally.
Founded by Raphael McGowan following a personal tragedy, Bakslap began with a heartfelt mission to prevent skin cancer.
From a successful Kickstarter campaign to now reaching international markets, the journey has been driven by a deep commitment to promoting health and accessibility.
“We’ve always wanted to share our products and message worldwide, but only after joining these grant programs did we really grasp the amount of planning needed,” he said.
“The practical advice and workshops from TIQ have given us a clear plan for tackling new markets.“
Raphael highlighted the straightforward benefits of their training.
“These grant programs really clarified the export process for us, shifting our approach from hopeful to strategic. We now feel equipped to enter any market with a solid plan, knowing that we’ve prepared well to make each new venture successful.“
As Bakslap prepares for its U.K debut and boosts its presence in the U.S., the company is keen to find partners who can help extend its reach and deepen its impact.
“With TIQ’s help, we’re not just dreaming of success—we’re actively building the path towards it,” he said.
