Quilts head south for the winter

Last week the Quilters group of Noosa Arts and Crafts Association donated several beautiful handmade quilts to the Rotary Club of Noosa to send to their Victorian counterparts to distribute to the homeless and people in need to keep them warm during the forthcoming chilly months. The Quilters coordinator Sandy Mackie, said group members often made quilts specifically for donation to charity and had previously donated to ones affected by floods in north Queensland and to other needy people.

Rotary Noosa president Jim Harpley said they had worked with this wonderful Quilters group previously in distributing to the needy these beautiful handmade quilts.  “These quilts are headed to the Portland Victoria Rotary Club where the winters are very cold and those in need in that community really appreciate the care and thoughtfulness of these Noosa Quilters,” he said.
