Good Samaritan’s car stolen by crash victim

A white Jaguar reported stolen from Worongary lost control on Steve Irwin Way, before crashing into a tree.

Beerwah police are investigating a crash that turned into a car theft at Landsborough on Wednesday 1 June.

Initial investigations indicate a white Jaguar reported stolen from Worongary lost control on Steve Irwin Way just after 9am, before crashing into a tree.

Several members of the public, including a man in his 60s, stopped to assist the man from the vehicle.

The driver has then proceeded to get into the man’s maroon Mazda CX-5 and take off northbound on Steve Irwin Way.

The driver is described as man and aged between 18 and 30.

Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

Anyone with information, relevant CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time depicting the incident or a white Jaguar and maroon Mazda CX-5 is urged to contact police.
