LifeFlight airlifts two motorbike riders in separate accidents

Two LifeFlight rescue crews have come to the aid of a pair of motorcycle riders injured in separate crashes on Saturday 31 August.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew was tasked to a recreational moto park in the Gympie region just after 2:30pm.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the man rider for a concussion and wrist injury.

The man, aged in his 20s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Later that afternoon, the Bundaberg-based LifeFlight rescue crew was tasked to K’gari at approximately 5:30pm, after a man rider had been involved in a trailbike accident.

The LifeFlight pilot landed the chopper at a nearby airstrip and met local QAS paramedics to transfer the patient to the rescue helicopter.

He was then airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment with an injured arm.
