Two motocross riders rescued by LifeFlight

LifeFlight has airlifted two motocross riders to hospital in separate incidents over the weekend.

In the latest mission, the Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew attended a motocross park in the Gympie region on Sunday 3 August.

The rescue chopper was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 12:15pm

The aeromedical crew and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the male teenager for chest and lower back injuries.

He was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.

On Saturday afternoon the Brisbane-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a motocross rider from an Adventure sports centre in the Scenic Rim region at 2:15pm.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and nurse worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for a head injury and abrasions.

The man in his 20s was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
