The LifeFlight Bundaberg-based aeromedical crew airlifted a woman from K’gari on Wednesday 3 September after a tour bus incident.

It’s believed the woman was travelling in the vehicle when it struck a wash-out on the beach and jolted her back.

The rescue helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) to the island at 2.25pm.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for back injuries.

The woman was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
