Sunshine Coast business recruiting 100 new contractors to grow its on-demand network

Demand for flexible, work-from-home opportunities is on the rise as cost-of-living pressures push Australians to seek additional income streams without sacrificing family time.

Leading the charge is Sunshine Coast-based Laundry Lady, which has announced plans to recruit 100 new Laundry Lady and Lad contractors nationwide as the year begins to meet immediate demand.

Laundry Lady, known for its affordable and time-saving pickup and delivery laundry services, is experiencing unprecedented demand from households and businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re seeing incredible growth in our service areas,” chief executive officer and founder Susan Toft said of the outsourcing trend.

“Families and businesses are turning to us for convenient, affordable solutions to the never-ending laundry pile. At the same time, more people are embracing the flexibility of work-from-home opportunities to manage the rising cost of living while still having time for their families.”

With Laundry Lady, contractors set their own schedules, work within their local area, and have the potential to earn between $300 and $3000 per week, depending on their availability and goals.

“Whether it’s mums juggling school drop-offs, carers looking for a flexible side hustle, or professionals seeking to build a full-time income around their lifestyle, Laundry Lady provides a unique opportunity to take control of your work-life balance,” Susan said.

Since its beginnings in 2012, Laundry Lady has grown into a thriving international operation, boasting a 90% female workforce and a strong presence in both Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re proud to be a business that supports diversity and flexibility, offering a low-cost entry point for contractors to start their own ventures under the Laundry Lady brand,” Susan added.

The new contractor roles come at a time when flexible work options are increasingly popular. These positions are open nationwide, with a focus on areas experiencing high demand for laundry services, such as metropolitan regions like Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. And at home here on the Sunshine Coast.

“It’s about creating opportunities for people to earn a meaningful income without the added stress of long commutes or rigid office hours,” Susan said.

“We’re excited to welcome 100 new Laundry Ladies and Lads to our team as we continue to grow and serve our communities.”

Laundry Lady is now Australia’s fastest-growing door to door laundry service, on track to reach $10 million in annual revenue this year.

The business has shone on the national business stage, taking out two categories in the 2024 Smart Company Smart50 Awards—People Power and Marketing—and securing a Top 20 spot on the ‘Fastest Growing Companies’ list.

It has also been a State Finalist in Telstra’s Best of Business Award, secured multiple Ausmumpreneur wins, and Susan was named Founder of the Year at the Women in Digital Awards.

Laundry Lady operates from a Sunshine Coast-based headquarters that provides contractor training and onboarding through its game-changing TimeBoss software and systems, in addition to customer support.
