Armed robbery in Mooloolaba

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a Mooloolaba business on 29 June.

Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a Mooloolaba business on 29 June.

Around 3pm a man entered the Mooloolaba Esplanade newsagent and produced a knife, before making demands for money.

The young woman staff member, who was not physically injured, complied and the man fled on foot with a sum of money.

Investigators believe he walked to an undercover carpark beneath the shop to a 2015 dark grey Holden Cruze Sri-V sedan bearing false Queensland Registration plates, 163YYK.

The man is described as being average height and build and was wearing a dark cap, grey trousers and a darker grey top and distinctive black and white footwear. He had very bright blue eyes and blue headphones around his neck and a was wearing a white surgical mask.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, and are asking businesses and motorists in the vicinity to provide relevant CCTV or dashcam footage. Anonymous reports can be made.
