A man from Sydney’s Northern Beaches has become an overnight multi-millionaire after winning what is being described as Australia’s healthiest home – a record-breaking $13.9 million wellness mansion in Noosa.
The luxury property was awarded through the Dream Home Art Union prize draw, marking the largest home giveaway in Australian history.
The four-bedroom home, designed by Paul Clout, features sweeping ocean views and a suite of wellness amenities including a private sauna, steam room, ice bath, gym, swimming pool and plunge spa.
Winner Kristian, from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, said he was shocked when he received the call confirming the life-changing prize.
“I am stunned. I have never won anything in my life — not even a meat tray,” he said.
“I’ve had to work hard for everything I’ve done.
“I never expected to win, but before I would go to sleep, I’d like to think about what I would do if I won and who I would give it to.”
The multi-level home includes a lift, parents’ retreat, climate-controlled wine cellar and expansive indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, reflecting the growing demand for health-focused luxury living in Australia.
Kristian said the opportunity to help others was foremost in his mind after the win.
“There are so many wonderful things I can do to help people with a win like this. That is what is important,” he said.
“I have done it all and I have got a nice life, but to be able to give to other people who are deserving is just a wonderful thing to be able to do.”
The total $13.9 million prize pool also includes $250,000 in gold bullion, $391,427 worth of designer furniture and high-end appliances, as well as $10,102 to cover rates and water, $1,888 for legal transfer fees and a $3,000 travel voucher.
Proceeds from ticket sales support Australian veterans and their families through RSL Queensland, which has partnered with the Dream Home Art Union for nearly 70 years.
In the past 12 months alone, RSL Queensland has assisted 7,304 veterans and their families to improve health and wellbeing, secured employment for 358 veterans and partners, and helped 238 veterans and their families move into safe, permanent accommodation.
