Noosa Community Foundation trailblazer honoured

The 2025 Noosa Queensland Day Awards are all about honouring our generous-spirited local volunteers and recognising the incredible difference their efforts make to our community.

There are dozens of deserving nominees who will be honoured at Sandy Bolton MP’s Queensland Day ceremony at The J on Friday 6 June.

In this article, we put one of those nominees in the spotlight – Scott Williams AO of Noosa Community Foundation.

Scott has been a driving force in the Noosa and broader Queensland community for years, and his latest initiative, the Noosa Community Foundation, is already transforming lives across our electorate.

Established in 2023, the Foundation is dedicated to supporting local charities and providing scholarships to students from across Noosa.

Scott has a passion for education and philanthropy and since the Foundation’s inception, he has volunteered and worked tirelessly to raise nearly $200,000, which has gone directly toward assisting grassroots causes and educational opportunities for local youth.

“Scott has brought together a dedicated team of volunteers, each with unique skills, and with encouragement supported them to excel for Noosa and all those the Foundation supports.

He has volunteered his time, services and energy to building this organisation and fundraising to assist students and charities across the greater Noosa region,” Justin Morgan said, co-director of Noosa Community Foundation.

Scott has long been committed to community development and was previously recognised as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2023 for service to business, education and philanthropy.

Some of Scott’s previous roles include as the Chair and Director of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation, the Independent Chair of the Noosa Council Audit Committee and the Deputy Chancellor of the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Now Scott is harnessing the skills he has learned in these positions to support charities and community groups, as well local students in their endeavors.

The Noosa Electorate Queensland Day awards are an initiative of Independent Member for Noosa, Sandy Bolton MP with sponsorship support from Noosa Today and Cooroy RSL.

All local community groups can nominate, until 12pm on 19 May 2025, up to two individuals who have not received a Noosa Queensland Day Award before and have volunteered their time or provided pro-bono services for a minimum of two years within the Noosa state electorate.

Hard copies of nomination forms can be downloaded from this link and are also available from Sandy Bolton’s office at Suite CB05, 28 Eenie Creek Rd, Noosaville, across the carpark from the Ampol Noosa Civic petrol station or by calling 5319 3100.
