Noosa Classic shortlisted for Australian Event Awards

The 2018 Noosa Classic Gran Fondo cycling event has received three nominations for the upcoming Australia Event Awards.

The Noosa Classic will go up against some of Australia’s most significant and large-scale events in the categories of Best New Event, Best Regional Event (Queensland) and Best Community Event.

The 2018 event was held on 26 August and its inaugural year was a resounding success thanks to the incredible support from the Noosa community.

The day was not without its challenges due to a torrential downpour but thanks to the hard work from volunteers, partners and of course the riders themselves the day marked a memorable first outing.

Event originator and Bicycling Australia Publisher, James Yaffa, reinforced the exceptional results of the event.

“To be recognised for our first Noosa Classic is great recognition for our team and importantly the local Noosa Community who welcomed us with open arms,” he said.

“Winning awards is one thing, but really it’s the riders, volunteers, support staff, sponsors and the wonderful and energetic support from our stakeholders who helped us so much.”

Winners of the Australian Event Awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 18 September in Perth.

The 2019 Noosa Classic is right around the corner on 18 August, with registrations still open – visit www.noosaclassic.com.au for details.
