The next generation

By Judy Greaves

The Hastings Street resident Albino bush turkey has built a nest at the end of the second Roundabout in Hastings Street. I was walking past last night and witnesses this very rare event.

The White Bush Turkey was fluffing around in the nest when a female arrived and after a bit of a scuffle the female scratched out a big hole to lay her eggs. To see something like

this happen right in the middle of Hastings Street was truly wonderful. Many of the Locals have been following the Albino Turkey since it was a small chick and its lovely to see it has

managed to survive and go onto fatherhood.
