Blue haired girl supports autism

Noosa singer and artist Emma Bridget Tomlinson has used her artistic talents to design a creative fundraising venture for Autism Queensland’s annual “Go Blue for Autism” campaign.

Emma’s pop art painting ‘Blue Haired Girl’ is featured on a limited edition of 500 cotton tote bags selling for $10 each on the Autism Queensland website.

Diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome by when she was four years old, today 19 year-old Emma is on a mission to become an ambassador for young girls with autism.

And she has helped establish an Autism Support Group (ASG) with Student Support at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) where she is currently studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries Majoring in Music & Minoring in Drama.

Her mother Danielle said the USC ASD support group was the first of its kind for a Queensland university and aimed to involve online interaction and a multi-campus format.

Emma sings at Noosa’s View Restaurant at Peppers Resort and Villas and her music can be heard on JJJ unearthed.
