UPDATE: The 12-year-old girl reported missing from Birtinya has been located safe and well.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance to find a 12-year-old girl reported missing from the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday 7 February.

Police have been searching the area surrounding Anchorage Drive Park, Birtinya after the girl was last seen leaving a Birtinya property around 6.45pm on 7 February.

She has not contacted her family since.

Concerns are held for the girl’s welfare due to her young age and this behaviour being out of character.

She is described as Caucasian, approximately 165 centimetres tall, with brown, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with red lines on the front, black shorts and no shoes.

Anyone who knows information about the girl’s whereabouts, or has CCTV footage of the area, is urged to contact police immediately.
