From micro-mobility to motorcycles at the EV Expo

Exciting new easy-riding transport options will be a feature of the free Noosa Electric Vehicle Expo, with everything from e-scooters, chopper-style motor scooters and powerful electric motorbikes on display.

“Personal electric transport is no longer just about cars and e-bikes,” said Expo coordinator Vivien Griffin. “E-scooters are transforming our transport options and the range of vehicles now available can provide for sitting or standing travel, and distance range up to 70 kilometres, depending on ride mode chosen. They are lightweight, affordable, and can be folded to take on public transport or into the workplace.

“Expo visitors will have the chance to have a test ride in a safe, dedicated space. Queensland legislation limits their speeds to 25 kph, and they may be ridden on footpaths and on local roads of up to 50k speed limit.”

On-road electric scooter transport now includes the eye-catching “Easy Rider” chopper-style motor scooters, which are challenging our concepts of what a motor scooter looks like, with both the NKD and Wyld vehicles getting a lot of interest. Maximum speed for the Wyld is 50 kph, and only a standard driver’s licence is required. It has a range of 80k and a removable battery for easy recharging.

The Fonzarelli electric NKD comes in three different models, with maximum speeds from 50kph to 100kph and a range up to 200k. Both will be on display at the Expo, as well as the silent but powerful Evoke motor bike.

The Expo will be held on Sunday 21 March, from 10-2pm, at the Noosa Transit Centre Car Park, Lanyana Way, Noosa Junction. Further information at noosaevexpo.com.au.
