Roommates wake to unknown man beside bed touching them

Two young women living together on the Sunshine Coast have woken to find an unknown man kneeling beside their beds touching them.

Police are appealing for public assistance regarding the two recent cases of indecent assault following break-ins at Pacific Paradise.

At 1.50am on February 17, a woman in her 20’s woke up to a man touching her inappropriately.

After the she woke, the man ran from the house and the woman reported the frightening experience to police.

Sunshine Coast Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards said police believe the man lives in the area.

“He’s gone to some length to target that place again,“ he said.

In the second break-in at the same home on March 7 at 11.20pm, another woman in her 20’s woke to find a man inappropriately touching her while she lay in her bed.

She screamed before chasing the man out of the house and phoning police.

“We’re looking at someone who has just moved into that area around February perhaps,“ Senior Sgt Edwards said.

“If there are other incidents at other areas that have gone unreported, please bring that information forward to police.

“I would certainly suggest that it’s probably not the only place he’s targeted and this is a warning to other residents there to take some more security measures.“

Initial investigations suggest the man forced entry to the home via windows on both occasions.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, about six-foot-tall, aged in his twenties with shoulder length curly brown hair.

Anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam vision of suspicious activity from the Karome Street area is urged to come forward.
