Two men charged after the discovery of human remains

Detectives have charged two people following the discovery of human remains at the Glasshouse Mountains on Tuesday 7 June.

Two men four-wheel-driving discovered the remains in a remote forestry track around midday.

Police declared a crime scene and preliminary examinations indicated the remains are human.

Forensic testing is underway to determine the identity of the remains however they are believed to be those of Donna Howe, a 57-year-old Caboolture woman, who was last seen by family in late April.

On Wednesday police executed a search warrant at a Balkee Drive address.

A 41-year-old Caboolture man and a 31-year-old Caboolture man have both been charged with one count each of murder and misconduct with a corpse.

They were both set to appear at Caboolture Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Police will allege both people were known to the victim.
