Noosa Civic hysteria: Police arrest teen girls from Covid hotspots

Police have arrested two young women from New South Wales at Noosa Civic Centre to be tested for coronavirus.

The teenage girls arrived from a Covid-19 hotspot in Sydney before the Queensland border closure over the weekend.

Police were looking for the two girls for 24 hours in regards to breaches of the Covid direction.

“We became aware of two young ladies who entered through Brisbane and made their way to the Sunshine Coast,” a Queensland police spokesperson said.

“These two ladies arrived into Queensland last week however that had come from a hotspot.

“Today we were fortunate enough to find these two ladies and they are cooperating with police to undertake the testing.

“There is no information that they are carriers of the disease but they have come from hotspots.

“There has been a lot of hysteria around it but it is important to remember that these young ladies have not been diagnosed with Covid but we are taking precautions.”
