Surfing Dog Championships set to take over First Point

Get ready for an afternoon of sun, surf, and sensational dog-surfing action as the 2025 VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships take over First Point, Noosa, on Saturday 15 March at 3pm.

This much-loved event, a staple of the Noosa Festival of Surfing, brings together some of the most talented surfing dogs and their humans for an unforgettable spectacle on the waves.

This year’s competition will be our biggest ever, with 14 phenomenal teams set to compete.

With the coveted Best Wave Award up for grabs, spectators can expect thrilling rides, impressive tricks, and plenty of heartwarming moments as these four-legged athletes hit the surf.

Dr Mark Perissinotto, lead veterinarian at VetShopAustralia, anticipates this to be one of the most exciting championships yet, celebrating the incredible bond between dogs and their owners while raising awareness about pet health and well-being.

Returning crowd favourites include Bu the Staffy, last year’s Best Wave Award winner, Duke the Basset Hound, and Poppy the Groodle, all ready to ride the waves once more.

This year also welcomes exciting newcomers, including Team Rusty, traveling all the way from NSW, and local talents Team Sunny, Team Basil, and Team Veuve, who are eager to make their mark on the surf.

Proudly presented by VetShopAustralia in partnership with Simparica Trio, this event highlights the importance of keeping adventurous dogs protected from fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal worms. Make sure to stop by the VetShopAustralia and Simparica Trio pop-up stand on the beach for free samples, expert advice, and giveaways.

Pack your sunscreen, grab your camera, and head to First Point, Noosa, on March 15 at 3pm to witness the 2025 VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships.
