Queensland has recorded another day of zero new cases, with only two recorded over the weekend from Brisbane and Cairns.

Currently there are only 20 active cases in the state with over 133,000 tests conducted.

It comes ahead of this weekend, a milestone in the road back to recovery for the state with some restrictions lifting after May 15.

Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart said as the restrictions ease, councils focus will now turn to getting businesses back on track.

“At the business round table we continue to have wonderful discussions with our associations, our businesses and our chambers,” Cr Stewart said.

“Coming out of this is, developed by Council Economics Development team, a business recovery road map which is an eight point framework to help our business community get back and trading.”

Cr Stewart said council is prepared to help wherever viable and will work flexibly with restaurants and cafes to ensure they’re able to get back on their feet.

Cr Stewart said that councils Business Support Program will continue, urging those who need it to make use of the resource.

50 local businesses have registered so far with the program so far.
