Queensland’s total rises to 1,051

Six additional cases have been recorded for the state today, though it has been confirmed that all new cases have come from Queenslanders that had been interstate.

Four of those cases were tested and diagnosed in Victoria and were passengers of the Coral Princess cruise ship, the remaining two were diagnosed in Western Australia.

Health Minister Stephen Miles said these cases have since recovered, keeping our active number of cases at just 19.

Seven Queenslanders are in hospital receiving treatment and three of those are receiving intensive care.

1856 tests were taken for Covid-19 in Queensland in the last 24 hours.

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young stated that although the state is doing very well, Queensland would need to see 28 days of no new cases plus all active cases recovered before Queensland would be declared free of Covid-19.
