Man, woman assist police after shots fired, closing highway

Detectives are continuing their investigation after an incident where multiple shots were fired in Coles Creek on Friday, 9 May.

Police were called just after 12.15pm to reports shots had been fired towards the Bruce Highway, adjacent to Maher Road.

Further investigations showed two people were target shooting on private property on Maher Road, but after they impacted members of the public nearby, the police were called and a Public Safety Preservation Act exclusion zone was enacted, temporarily closing the Bruce Highway in both directions for around an hour.

No one has been physically injured as a result of the incident.

A man and woman are assisting police with their inquiries as their investigations continue.
