TNT on top in tight contest

U12 Lightning v Coolum at home. Coolum won the toss and sent TNT into bat. TNT had a shaky start, losing early wickets before Piyush steadied, with Toby chipping in. But runs were hard to come by, TNT finishing on a low score of 6/88, Piyush 29no. Coolum also lost wickets early in the chase, before some solid batting shifted momentum. Max’s hand in a couple of quick wickets before drinks saw Coolum needing 15 runs, TNT 3 wickets. Tom rattled the timber to finish with 4/3 off 11 balls for TNT to take a remarkable victory!

U12 Storm v Coolum away. TNT won the toss and elected to bat, but were met with some fierce bowling and TNT were all out early for 70, Aedan 22no. TNT took to the field hoping to protect their low score. Jacob nabbed 2 wickets early and Nick backed him up with a near hat trick and run out. Kaleb and Charlie Mc also got a wicket, before Riley smashed through the final batsman to have Coolum all out for 58 before the drinks break, a great display from the bowlers to secure the win!

U13 TNT Storm v TNT Lightning. Storm were sent in to bat first and despite wickets being taken at regular intervals, got to work and set a big score to chase of 182, Ethan with 40no and Tom H 30 topped the great team effort by the Storm with the bat. Best of the bowlers were Tom L 2/16 and Oliver Wilson 2/22. Lightning then went in for the chase and started slowly creeping towards Storm’s total, 2/97 at drinks. Luke S had a great innings, hitting 59 while sharing the middle with Samuel Miller for the last wicket. It was a nail biting finish as Luke played smart cricket and made a win look possible. But, not enough wickets in hand with too many runs needed meant Storm took out the local derby, Luke L 2/9, Claudia T 2/16. It was a great game of cricket that kept everyone on the edge of their seat.

U14 v Maroochydore White at home, Day 2 (Day 1 TNT 160, Mdr 3/46). A wicket first over to Charlie helped and then our spinners really got in amongst them and TNT quickly had them 8/100. TNT then were sloppy in the field and dropped a spate of catches making the game much closer than it should have, but TNT won the first innings, Mdr all out for 144. Ben Anderson 3 wickets. TNT batted again and had some batting practice to round the day out finishing at 8/88, catching practice awaits at training!

U16 v Yandina away, Day 2 (Day 1 Yandina 206, TNT 0/8). Tom and Max continued to bat patiently on a hard wicket to score on due to the wet conditions, 45 runs after 20 overs. After the drinks break the runs flowed, the first wicket falling for 82. Harry joined the crease and took to increasing the run rate, punishing anything short, before the next wicket fell for 169. Harry and Jack pushed TNT past the target before rain halted play at 5/221, Harry 58no, Tom 54, Max 49, a great chase on a tricky pitch.
