Cash and drugs seized across Sunshine Coast and Gympie

Almost $230,000 cash and 120 cannabis plants have been seized as a result of two raids on properties in Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.

Around 8am on Wednesday 8 December, police simultaneously searched two properties at Pomona and Nahrunda.

More than 90 cannabis plants were located growing in shipping containers at the Pomona property. More than $220,000 was also located.

At the Nahrunda address, more than $3,000 cash was located along with almost 30 plants growing in shipping containers.

A 33-year-old Nahrunda woman has been charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs. She has also been charged with possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of an offence

She is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on 7 February.

A 55-year-old Pomona man has been charged with three counts of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, two counts of each of processing and producing dangerous drugs and trafficking in dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Noosa Magistrates Court on 1 February.
