Noosa operators inspire Brisbane travel trade

Recently Tourism Noosa hosted a trade event in Brisbane connecting Brisbane travel agents with Noosa tourism suppliers at the stunning The Calile Hotel.

The aim of the event was to put Noosa front of mind throughout the trade distribution network as destinations compete for share of voice as markets start to reopen.

Tourism Noosa’s Trade and Business Events Manager Vynka Hutton said, “The event was purposefully delivered in an educational, but engaging and interactive way, to connect our operators with key travel trade.”

“With so much new product and experiences, we wanted to update agents to ensure Noosa stays top of mind as one of Queensland’s destinations that offers so much for visitors to discover and explore.”

Attendees were given the opportunity to meet with each of the Noosa suppliers and increase their destination knowledge, as well as thanking the agents for their support through COVID.

The event featured product updates from suppliers with each agent receiving stamps on their ‘passports’ as they made their way through each station.

Once the agents had a completed stamped ‘passport’, they went into the draw to win prizes that were generously supplied by Noosa businesses, including nights away in rainforest retreats, beachside apartments, tours to Fraser Island and breathtaking experiences.

Each guest also took away their own personal Noosa Keep Cup, created by Pottery For the Planet, specifically for the event.

To test the agent’s knowledge, a curated Noosa Trivia Night was hosted to engage the agents with a fun night of laughs and friendly competition, with the host styled in true Noosa fashion – a suit jacket and pair of original Okanui boardshorts!

Erina Kilmore, Head of Global Sales for Australia Zoo said, “What a fun and informative way to connect with travel partners in Brisbane!”

“Thanks to Tourism Noosa for creating a unique trivia event for us to engage with key agents at a time where we need support more than ever.

“We certainly washed away 2021 and left our industry feeling excited to visit the Noosa region and experiences!”

With so much uncertainty going on in the world, it was fantastic to see key Noosa members engage with agents and gain their support for the future.

There is so much to look forward to as we await borders to open sooner than expected, and this trade event was a step in the right direction.

The travel trade will grow in importance as borders open, and consumers seek confidence and security when making bookings, due to the complexities they will face with cancellations, travel insurance and uncertainty.
