LifeFlight airlifts motorist seriously injured in crash

The woman was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight helicopter crew flew a woman to hospital, after she was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash, in the Somerset region, on Saturday 11 March.

It’s believed the woman, who is aged in her 20s, was the driver and sole occupant of the car.

The car reportedly veered off the road, colliding with a power pole.

The rescue chopper was called into action shortly before 6am.

The helicopter pilot landed the aircraft on a private property near the scene of the crash, where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic met with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for pelvic and abdominal injuries.
