Lions Club announces new board

The evening of 2 July marked a special occasion for the Tewantin Noosa Lions Club, when they thanked the out going board members for their stewardship during the last term and welcomed in the new board.

District Governor John Seymour invested the new board members into their various positions and inducted their newest member Amanda into the club.

The evening was also an opportunity to acknowledge five of their outstanding members who were bestowed ‘Melvin Jones’ awards in recognition of their exceptional community service.

The Melvin Jones award is named after the founder of Lions International and is a prestigious award.

Bryan Arber said, “It was great to see the event well supported by members and with a number of guests including councillors Karen Finzel and deputy Mayor Brian Stockwell in attendance.”

“The new board looks forward to continuing to collaborate with the council on projects that serve and benefit our community.

“Our club is very active in the community and we are always looking for new members to come and join us with helping others.”
