Nathaniel and Huw talk their way to the top at Noosa Toastmasters

Nathaniel Fahm and Huw Humphreys talked their way to the top awards at Noosa Toastmasters Club’s annual speech contest on 8 September.

The annual Humorous and Table Topics Speech contest was held in CWA Hall in Tewantin, where competitors were judged by both club and guest judges.

Nathaniel Fahm won the Humorous Speech contest with his entertaining speech, Love at First Sight.

The Table Topics Speech contest is an impromptu challenge where speakers have just moments to prepare a one to two minute response to a surprise topic. The topic was “Is there something you wish you knew 10 years ago?” and Huw Humphreys took out first place.

All competitors gave it their best and delivered strong, engaging performances.

The first-place winners of both contests will go on to represent Noosa Toastmasters Club at the Area 16 Conference on Saturday 8 November in Mudjimba. Area 16 brings together five clubs: Coolum, Maroochydore, Nambour, Sunshine Coast, and Noosa.

Noosa Toastmasters Club is a supportive public speaking club dedicated to improving your confidence and creativity in a safe environment.

They meet every second and fourth Monday of the month, from 6.30-8.30pm at the CWA Hall, Tewantin. The first two visits are free.
