Australians commemorated Remembrance Day last Wednesday with large gatherings like the one at the War memorial in Canberra or RSL Servicemen’s clubs all over the country.
Others were like the small, gated complex at Monterey in Tewantin where about 30 people made their heartfelt tribute which included a flag ceremony, reading of the Ode, singing the National Anthem and observing one minute’s silence.
The Monterey Arts and Crafts club made poppies in honour of the day.
