Man overboard off Sunshine Coast

Noosa Coast Guard have been involved in the search since 4.30 this morning.

A man has been reported missing after falling overboard from a fishing trawler in the early hours today, May 18.

At 4am the Noosa Coast Guard recieved the call from Water Police.

The man was seen going overboard the trawler 20 miles offshore of Point Arkwright.

The vessel had turned around to find the man but unfortunately there has been no sighting since.

A LifeFlight helicopter, a Water Police vessel launched from Brisbane and the Noosa Coast Guard are scanning the area.

Noosa Coast Guard Flotilla Commander Ian Hutchings said the man has been missing for five hours in unfavourable weather conditions.
