The first working bee at Burgess Creek will take place this Saturday.

A group of passionate locals will this weekend begin work to regenerate Burgess Creek in Sunrise Beach.

This important ecosystem is Noosa’s Eastern Beaches only significant free-flowing creek and is home to a variety of native flora and fauna species, including endangered frogs and the Glossy Black Cockatoos.

Starting at 7.30am sharp tomorrow the working bee will be attended by Noosa Council’s Bushcare team, Noosa Councillors and Mayor Clare Stewart.

The Noosa Men’s Shed will have on display a number of native nesting boxes that they have kindly contributed to the project.

The working bee will take place at Burgess Creek Footbridge (Sunrise Beach side) on Saturday 22 August from 7.30am to 10.30am.

Parking is available at 21-31 Rainbow Crescent, Sunrise Beach. Wear gumboots or old shoes with long pants.
