We all know Summer on the Sunshine Coast is special with our stunning beaches, brilliant sunshine and friendly locals. The word is spreading with Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex once again the pick of locations for summer AFL training camps.
Three AFL clubs will train at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex over the next two months as they prepare for the 2025 season.
Carlton Football Club, Richmond Football Club and the Western Bulldogs will all call the region home this summer:
Carlton Football Clubs will visit from December 15-18
Richmond Football Club will visit from December 16-18
Western Bulldogs will visit from January 31 – February 6, 2025
Sunshine Coast Strong Community Portfolio Councillor Taylor Bunnag said the region had firmly established itself as an ideal destination for elite sporting clubs.
“Three AFL teams coming to the Sunshine Coast for pre-season training is an excellent testament to our region, facilities and staff and showcases what we can do to the whole country,” Cr Bunnag said.
“The popularity of the Sunshine Coast as a location for training camps is a direct reflection of our quality facilities such as the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex and our beautiful climate and world-class beaches.”
Sunshine Coast Council Division 7 Councillor Ted Hungerford said it was a real bonus for our community and local fans to have access to the best players in the game, right here in our backyard.
AFL fans are invited to Carlton and Richmond’s open training sessions at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex, details below:
Carlton Football Club – Sunday, December 15 from 2-3pm, which will include a signing session. Register here.
Richmond Football Club – Wednesday, December 18, from 9.30am
