True to its name, the Family First party came first in the official draw for positions on the ballot paper for Gympie’s Wide Bay House of Representatives electorate in the 3 May federal election.
The party’s candidate Kristi Kenningale, an accountant, drew the number one position.
She was followed by the Australian Labor Party’s Elliott Chalmers, a finance officer.
Admin officer Chad Burgess was in number three spot for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation.
Sitting MP Llew O’Brien was in number four position for the LNP.
Investor Casey Iddon, an Independent, is number five.
Volunteer Emma Buhse is number six for the Queensland Greens.
Gabrial Pennicott is in number seven spot for Trumpet of Patriots.
The Wide Bay electorate, which includes Goomeri, Kilkivan and a large area from the Cooloola Coast to Imbil and from Maryborough to Noosa is held by Mr O’Brien with a margin of 11.34 per cent.
The Federal Electorate of Wide Bay covers an area of 14,573sq.kms and was one of the original federal electorates at Federation in 1901.
It is your federal electorate if you live in the state electorate areas of Gympie, the majority of Maryborough and Noosa, and parts of Hervey Bay, Nicklin and Nanango.
To narrow it down further, it also includes the local council areas of Gympie and parts of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Fraser Coast and South Burnett, as well as all the former Council areas of Maryborough, Cooloola, Tiaro, Woocoo, Kilkivan, Murgon and Cherbourg.
