Noosa welcomes top UK travel agents for exclusive familiarisation trip

Noosa has recently played host to five travel agents from one of the United Kingdom’s leading wholesalers, Gold Medal UK, as part of a prestigious Australian ‘mega famil’.

Gold Medal UK, a key provider of long-haul travel experiences, supports independent travel agents in selling Australian holidays.

This exclusive group, including product manager Lauren Ross and four top-selling agents who earned their place through a sales incentive competition, explored the best Noosa has to offer.

The itinerary included a Noosa Everglades tour with Habitat Noosa, a scenic journey with Joels Journey’s through Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Cooroy, and Mt Tinbeerwah, as well as a relaxing river cruise aboard the Noosa Ferry. Of course, no visit to Noosa would be complete without a quick dip in the ocean to experience the destination’s stunning coastline.

Throughout their stay, the group enjoyed luxurious accommodation and dining experiences, staying at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas, while indulging in meals at Bistro C, Belmondos, Lanai Noosa and The Doonan.

Tourism Noosa international marketing manager Vynka Hutton emphasised the importance of trade partners experiencing Noosa firsthand.

“It’s vital for travel trade professionals to experience a destination firsthand, as it enables them to truly understand the unique offerings and the exceptional experiences Noosa provides,” she said.

“It also provides the opportunity to deliver storytelling on Noosa’s long and proud history of protecting, preserving and looking after our natural environment, to attract visitors with similar mindsets.

“This trip will be showcased to Gold Medal UK’s database of over 26,000 travel agents, ensuring that Noosa remains top-of-mind for those planning unforgettable Australian holidays. The experiences shared will also be featured across the prestigious Travel Weekly UK channels, further amplifying Noosa’s global appeal.”

Tourism Noosa has been vigorously promoting in key international markets of UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand for several years with the UK being our top market.

The latest international visitors’ survey results for June 2024 showing the UK market was a standout, more than doubling spend since 2019 to $28.6 million.

The famil was secured by Tourism, providing a truly unique opportunity to showcase the region as Australia’s premier sustainable holiday destination.
