Ongoing investigations have identified an alleged additional two victims after surf instructor and World Surf League competitor Connor Lyons was named in court as the 26-year-old Peregian Springs man charged with indecent treatment of children and wilful exposure.

A search warrant at a Gympie property on Wednesday 18 December also led to further charges.

Detectives from Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged Mr Lyons with an additional 14 charges and investigations regarding those children are ongoing.

Police charged Mr Lyons with 12 counts of indecent treatment of children and three counts of wilful exposure earlier this week after he allegedly offended against two children known to him in a professional capacity in the surfing industry on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast since August last year.

Mr Lyons has now been charged with four counts of indecent treatment of children, two counts of making child exploitation material, two counts of using carriage service access child abuse material, two counts of wilful exposure, two counts of grooming children under 16 and one count each of possessing child exploitation material and damaging evidence with intent.

The surfer was granted bail with no pleas entered on Monday 16 December and was set to reappear in court in February, but is now due to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday 19 December.

ABC Sunshine Coast reported Magistrate Raelene Ellis granted Mr Lyons bail with conditions including that he must not have contact with any child under the age of 16 or attend a venue where children frequented.

He must report in-person to police three times a week, and any client of his business must be 17 or older.

Mr Lyons is the owner and founder of Connor Lyons Surf Experience and has more than 9000 followers on Instagram, where he advertises kids surf lessons in the Noosa area.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar to come forward.
