Noosa Beefsteak & Burgundy Club celebrates 50 years

The Noosa Beefsteak & Burgundy Club celebrated 50 years of excellent cuisine, fine wine and great company at Gusto Restaurant on 20 July.

Founded on 14 July 1975, the Noosa Beefsteak & Burgundy Club is a long-standing gathering of food and wine enthusiasts.

Part of a broader international network of Beefsteak & Burgundy Clubs, the Noosa chapter brings together a diverse group of locals with a shared passion for gastronomy. The Noosa Club membership is mixed with women who are also very welcome to join.

Gusto’s owner, Timothee Lepoutre, prepared an exceptional, unique, off menu lunch of five courses with excellent wine pairings provided by the club’s Winemaster and president.

The club was privileged to have Dr Vin Thomas, General Secretary of the Beefsteak & Burgundy Club Inc., in attendance. He presented the Noosa president Nick Kahl with a framed certificate and a medallion in honour of this milestone.

Meeting on the third Wednesday of each month at 6pm at a range of top Noosa Shire restaurants, the club hosts dinners that celebrate regional produce, seasonal flavours, and exceptional wine pairings.

Each event is an opportunity for members to engage in lively conversation, learn more about wine and food appreciation, and support local hospitality venues.

With a strong focus on camaraderie and culinary curiosity, the club has become a cornerstone of Noosa’s social dining scene. Guest chefs and winemakers are often invited to present, adding a personal and educational touch to the experience.

For those who take their steak rare and their Shiraz seriously, the Noosa Beefsteak & Burgundy Club offers a delicious blend of tradition, taste, and togetherness.

Membership enquiries are very welcome: noosabandbclub@gmail.com

You can also follow the club on Instagram (noosabeefsteakandburgundyclub) and Facebook (Noosa Beefsteak and Burgundy Club) where monthly updates on dinners are posted.
