Premier’s Women on Boards event to be held on Sunshine Coast

The Premier has announced the next Women on Boards event will be held on the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday 12 March.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she is calling on all of the board-ready women of the Sunshine Coast to seize this opportunity.

“We want to encourage as many women as possible to step into the boardroom at all levels of public, private and not-for-profit sectors, so I want to see the women invited from around the Sunshine Coast supporting this latest Women on Boards event,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

“My government is leading by example, there are 50 per cent of women in my cabinet but as a community there is more work to do – and that’s what these Women on Boards events are all about.”

The previous Women on Boards events in Brisbane and Toowoomba were attended by more than 800 participants, who were urged to step up into key roles with Government bodies, in particular.

“We’ve seen some great outcomes on the Sunshine Coast with women representing four out of six Queensland Government appointees to the Council of the University of the Sunshine Coast, and seven out of 10 appointees to the North Coast Regional Disability Advisory Council,” the Premier said.
