LifeFlight airlifts woman after crash with truck

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a woman to hospital after a crash with a truck in the Sunshine Coast region on Wednesday 21 May.

The crew was able to land the helicopter on the road near the scene, which had been closed by emergency services at 4.25pm.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for head and abdominal injuries.

A woman in her 30s was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
