Arts and crafts for Christmas

For the past 28 years Noosa locals have had the luxury of accessing an untapped treasure trove of unique Christmas gifts at Wallace House and this year is no different.

Noosa Arts & Crafts Association spokeswoman Jan Bentley said in past years there was often a queue of people waiting for the doors to open.

“This year we are hoping for another bumper market to help Noosa Arts & Crafts retain its popularity amongst the

community,“ she said. “Many of our loyal customers come back year after year to buy unique gifts.“

Jan said the association’s 300 members were looking forward to the upcoming market and busily finishing off all the items, they have created during the year.

“As always, the handcrafted cards and tree decorations will be in good supply along with hand-dyed silk scarves, bags, clutches and gorgeous ceramics,“ she said.

“The members pride themselves on their unique designs, skilled handiwork and quality materials.“

The support of the community is paramount to Noosa Arts & Crafts and they have great plans for 2022 with innovative workshops and new group activities starting in the New Year.

Art After Dark will continue to feature every month with local artists sharing their expertise with participants in a fun evening workshop.

Jan said during Covid the majority of members had continued but some had returned to their states and countries to be with families and others had moved on to other hobbies during the lockdown, but there was always room to welcome more members and tutors.

If you know nothing of Noosa Arts & Crafts and its centre for creativity in Wallace House, then it’s time you visited the website – noosaartsandcrafts.org.au

Their Christmas market opens at 9am on Friday 26 November and runs daily until 5 December at 3pm.
