Office flooding not slowing down Runaway Noosa team

The offices of IRONMAN, organisers of local events including the ASICS Runaway Noosa Marathon and Garmin Noosa Triathlon, recently suffered significant flooding but the show must go on.

A water pipe recently burst within the organisation’s Noosaville office, with flooding damage from hours of hot water flowing through the building meaning a complete refit is now underway.

The timing could not have been worse, with the more than 30 local staff now working remotely as they prepare for this weekend’s sell-out Runaway Noosa Marathon.

Rebecca Van Pooss, Head of Operations for The IRONMAN Group Oceania and Noosa resident, said that the team have taken the disruption in their stride as they prepare for this weekend’s event.

“It’s never pleasant to disrupt your office setup, especially this close to a major event, but our team of more than 30 local staff haven’t let it phase them and we’re all systems go for this weekend’s Runaway Noosa Marathon,” she said.

“It’s been a bit like the COVID days, with staff working from home again, with plenty of video calls in the middle of this incredibly busy period of the year.

“We’re hopeful to be in a temporary space in the coming weeks with a major refurbishment now underway for our Noosaville office,” Van Pooss said.
