Around 5.40pm, a man entered a café and convenience store on Crescent Road and demanded cash from the staff.

The man is believed to have presented what appeared to be a firearm concealed in his waistband.

He left the store on foot along George Street.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 170cm tall, wearing a black or grey jumper, long dark pants, a khaki green cap, gloves, white, grey, and black shoes.

He was also carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information or dashcam vision of the area between 5.30pm and 6pm are urged to contact police.
