Security tips for living or holidaying in multi-residential buildings

On 5 and 6 December, it is alleged that four units in Fiji Court, Parrearra had items stolen from outside their units and from inside their unlocked vehicles.

A 14-year-old Parrearra boy and a 14-year-old Beerwah boy were charged for these offences.

The 14-year-old Parreara boy was cautioned under the Youth Justices Act.

The 14-year-old Beewah boy was charged with possess dangerous drug, five counts of enter premises and commit an indictable offence, breach of bail, fraud, attempted stealing, two counts of stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess stolen property and three counts of trespass and has been remanded in custody.

On 12 December, it is alleged unknown offenders entered a holiday apartment through an unlocked sliding door in Alexander Heads.

The offenders stolen keys and a wallet from kitchen bench. This is a friendly reminder to place all items of value out of sight and in a secure place.

Avoid storing excess belongings and valuables in garage areas and lock-up garages.
