Man allegedly stabbed at Nambour venue

Police have charged a man after an assault in Nambour on Tuesday 24 June.

Emergency services were called to a venue on Currie Street around 2.33pm after reports a man had been allegedly stabbed.

Police will allege a 41-year-old Nambour man was involved in an altercation and then ran from the scene.

Police located the man in Petrie Park and took him into custody without incident around 3.43pm.

The 41-year-old Nambour man was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public space.

He is set to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 25 June.

A 33-year-old Charleville man was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The men are believed to be known to each other.

Anyone with information or dashcam vision in the area at the time are urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
