Cooroy locals show pride of workmanship

The Rotary Club of Cooroy was delighted to honour six local people who consistently give that special extra in their career on Monday 17 April.

The event was held at the Cooroy RSL who provided exemplary service and food in keeping with the spirit of the awards.

The Rotary Pride of Workmanship Awards are designed to acknowledge an employee or business operator, irrespective of age or vocation, who displays outstanding qualities in terms of approach, attitude, dedication and commitment to their jobs and to recognise their contribution to our community.

Andrew Aves, President of the Rotary Club of Cooroy said,
“The Pride of Workmanship Awards event is one of the highlights of our Rotary year when we take the opportunity to recognise individuals who instinctively produce outstanding service to their customers and contribute to the quality of life we enjoy in this community.”

This year awards were presented by President Elect Chris Durie to;
 Cathy Breed, – Cooroy Landscape Supplies
, Tania Stewart – Live Life Pharmacy Cooroy
, Hayley Kirkpatrick – Cooroy Butchery and Smokehouse
, Helen Hollingworth – Cooroy RSL,
Carl Chapman and Kevin Delley – Andrew’s A Grade Mechanical Pomona.

The Award recognises all aspects of work performance and ethics, inclusive of quality and quantity of output, customer service, safety, initiative and sense of pride and responsibility.

Awards organiser Chris Durie said, “The Award objectives are to encourage Pride of Workmanship in all jobs and vocations; to provide employers and customers with the opportunity to recognise employees who display the qualities worthy of an award and to encourage a sense of community pride in individual achievement.”

“The Pride of Workmanship Award is not a competition as there are only winners. It recognises an individual’s achievement, commitment and ability to inspire their fellow employees and customers.”
