PTSD dogs laps up help from brewery

The Eumundi Brewery and the Imperial Hotel Eumundi recently granted $3,000 from their Community Fund to local charity PTSD Dogs Australia, giving them a much-needed paw-up to purchase fabulous new uniforms, for their volunteers and staff.

The local charity rescue dogs and train them to become valuable Assistance Dogs for our many Veterans and First Responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The organisation based at Cooroy, which is run almost entirely by an army of 20+ volunteers, was desperate for new uniforms for their dog trainers, volunteers and staff to wear at public events and when out and about with their Assistance Dogs in-training.

They quite literally run on the smell of a wet dog towel, and rely entirely on donations, grants, sponsorships and collaborations.

CEO, Founder Angie Weeks was thrilled to receive the donation, saying that it has meant their pack are not only looking professional, but are now much more comfortable as the new polo shirts are lovely and cool. “We are incredibly grateful to Chris and the team at Eumundi Brewery for their generous donation”.

Their Assistance Dogs are placed at no cost to their handlers, who have given a lifetime of service to our community.

Receiving an Assistance Dog can be life-changing, and in some cases, even life-saving.

Each Dog is custom trained to mitigate and alleviate the specific barriers their Handler is experiencing.
