Dinah Wakefield at home with her art.

Some came to learn technique, some to invest in art and quite a few interstate and international visitors booked holidays in Noosa to coincide with Noosa Open Studios.

In its fourth year the annual event attracted hundreds of visitors to individual artist studios and galleries across the Noosa shire.

Many of the visitors to Dinah Wakefield’s studio at Peregian Beach were return guests, some travelling from Victoria and New Zealand and more than a few had come back to purchase more of her paintings.

Giuliana De Witts found most of her guests to be artists who wanted to know more about her prints and life drawings. Giuliana said it was very pleasing for her to hear people say she had inspired them to paint again.

It was the first exhibition for Kevin Dick whose wooden sculptures gained much interest. A boat builder for 35 years Kevin turned to art five years ago, agreeing to open his premises for the first time for Noosa Open Studios this year.
