Stolen truck ends in police chase

Police have charged a man with dangerous driving following the alleged unlawful use of a small truck across Brisbane on Monday afternoon.

It will be alleged the truck was stolen from Mooloolaba around 8.20am on Monday. Around 4.45pm police received multiple calls about the driving manner of the truck on the Bruce Highway at Caboolture.

Polair and police vehicles tracked the truck as it headed south damaging multiple vehicles centred on the Pacific Motorway/M1 in the vicinity of Woolloongabba and Holland Park.

It will be further alleged the truck crashed into the deck of a home in Allinga Street at Mansfield. The driver ran from officers who swiftly arrested him without incident.

The 31-year-old Tara man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, robbery with violence, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts each of stealing and possession of dangerous drugs.

He was set to appear before the Cleveland Magistrates Court on 20 June.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or sustained damage to their vehicle to contact Policelink.

Investigations remain ongoing.
